I come from a long line of publishers dating back to the 1890s and more recently booksellers. When my grandfather settled in the UK he imported Spanish and Catalan books from Spain and South America for University libraries. My father joined my grandfather’s business and In the mid 70s my father moved from Oxford to the wilds of West Wales and continued to sell books to university libraries while my grandfather sold antiquarian books.
My father sold his books through a mail order catalogue and I have vivid memories of the boxes of catalogues returning from the printers and the whole family forming a production line to pack them up to send out.
Although I work as a Creative Life Coach I have a strong affiliation with the book world having grown up surrounded by my father’s books, sometimes quite literally as they filled our living room when we first moved to Wales!
Each generation of my family brought a new twist to the book world and Bookshop.org has allowed me to join my ancestors in a new and exciting way.
I hope you enjoy my tiny corner of Bookshop.org.
